Hi! My name is Karli and this is a documentation of my adventures on the C.A.S.P programs through my University. C.A.S.P stands for the Central American Study Program and it runs from January 2nd when we fly out from Spokane, till May 4th when we land back home. During the month of January my fellow thirteen CASPians and I will be in Guatemala, living with host families and attending a language school, while taking adventures with our professor and T.A on the weekends. At the beginning of February we will be flying to Nicaragua, where we will stay for the remainder of our trip. Each of us has an internship in Nicaragua customized to our major and what we plan to do after we graduate. We will again be staying with host families, although this time we will be spread across the west coast of Nicaragua depending on the location of our internship. I don't have a ton of information but I know that I will be living in the town of Chinandega, about three hours north of Managua, the capital. I will be working in a Health Clinic and a Christian school for my internships.
That is a bit of background information about the program and what I will be doing while I am there. As for me, I am too excited to be nervous about anything. I know there is going to be a lot of culture shock and probably a good amount homesickness and feelings of being over whelmed, but I plan to take those as they come and not worry about them just yet. I will do my best to keep updating my family and friends on my adventures. Thank you for all you prayers and support as I prepare for this adventure. God Bless
                            Karli
